Lindsay Lohan is finally making her return to acting!
The “Mean Girls” star hasn’t been onscreen for a long time now but Variety reports that she had just been cast in an upcoming holiday-themed romantic comedy that will premiere on Netflix.
An official synopsis of the film states that Lindsay will portray a “newly engaged, spoiled hotel heiress” who loses her memory following a skiing accident and “finds herself in the care of a handsome, blue-collar lodge owner and his precocious daughter in the days leading up to Christmas.”
It’s yet to be announced who else will be part of the cast and when we can expect the movie to be released. But knowing that production is only going to begin in November, it’s possible that it won’t be coming in time for the holiday season despite the film’s theme.
Lindsay grew to fame at a young age, starring in multiple successful movies like the reboot of “The Parent Trap,” “Freaky Friday,” “Confessions Of a Teenage Drama Queen,” and “Mean Girls.” She then turned away from the showbiz limelight after her personal issues were repeatedly exposed by tabloids and eventually moved abroad. Since then, she’s made only a few appearances on film and television. It was in 2019 during CNN’s New Year’s Eve special when she admitted to hosts Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen her desire to “come back to America and start filming again.”
And it seems that she is definitely following through on that promise!
