Panciteria Lido was born in the heart of Chinatown, Binondo. Started by Chef Lido in 1936, Panciteria Lido catered to Chinese favorites like noodles and wanton, with a subtle hint of that sweet and salty Filipino flavor. Later, Chef Lido started experimenting with Chinese pork roast recipe, cooking it under “pugon oven”, thus the birth of the Pugon Roasted Asado.
Recently, we had a quick visit to one of their biggest branch, Lido Cocina Tsina by Panciteria LIDO Commonwealth.
Located along Commonwealth Avenue, after St. Peter’s Church, Panciteria Lido’s Commonwealth branch can cater big events like birthday parties, weddings and other functions. They have outdoor seats for those who need to smoke and chill just outside the restaurant.

Common to ALL Panciteria Lido stores is that they are well lighted, spacious and comfy–whether you want to chill with friends, dine with your family, have your own me time… Panciteria Lido is a good option on your list of restaurants to go.

As for the food, Panciteria Lido offers a wide selection of Chinese favorites. They have also added some new dishes to try, of course maintaining the quality of their best selling dishes!
For starters, you may want to try out their top selling tofu dishes–Crispy Tofu in Chinese Vinegar and Poached Tofu in Special Soy.

For those who are not fans of fried, order this poached tofu as an alternative. The special soy is very flavorful that we even mixed it with the crispy tofu while eating!

For pancit lovers like me, get a plate of their Chami Special. I really like their version of this because the noodles are not soggy and the plate is full of toppings. Trust me, you can never go wrong ordering this dish.

For the rice, Yang chow fried rice is their best selling dish, pair it up with the Chinese Fried Chicken that you can order in half or in full.
Don’t forget to try their Sizzling Asado with Plum and Taosi Sauce. A mix of sweet and salty that is definitely Filipino-Chinese in taste. This dish definitely gave a twist to your regular pugon roasted asado. Oh and better eat it while it’s still sizzling!

Last but definitely not the least, the Pugon Roasted Asado is something you should really order. Whether with sauce or not, the asado is tasty. Guaranteed freshly brick oven roasted everyday! For drinking buddies, this dish will complement well with your drink. Since it is oven roasted, it doesn’t have the unhealthy oils we are all scared of. 🙂
