For your next long weekends and vacation leaves, you don’t have to leave the city and endure hours of traffic just to get to the latest tourist destination. You can relax and enjoy a staycation in the city, especially with the newly opened premium hotel in the Mall of Asia complex: Lanson Place Mall of Asia.

Lanson Place is a hospitality management brand from Hong Kong with 7 properties all over Asia—with more opening soon around the world. Their first property in the Philippines opened its doors in the latter part of 2023, but even as they prepare for their grand opening soon, most of Lanson Place Mall of Asia’s rooms, amenities, and dining outlets are already in full swing.
Aside from being the first Lanson Place property in the country, Lanson Place Mall of Asia is also the first to be a hybrid property (offering both hotel rooms and serviced residences), the first to have in-house F&B outlets, event spaces, and is the biggest Lanson Place property so far.
This new premium hotel sits amid the many corporate buildings in the Mall of Asia complex, yet offering an unobstructed view of Manila Bay, looking over the many food establishments of SM by The Bay.
The property is divided into two wings: the hotel wing and the serviced residences wing where they cater to longer stays.
Lanson Place Hotel Rooms & Serviced Residences
Lanson Place’s hotel has 5 room types; the base room offers a city view, and the biggest room—the One-Bedroom Lanson Place Suite—features a gorgeous bay and city view.
What I love about Lanson Place’s hotel rooms is that, aside from being more spacious than other hotels in the city, they are designed to maximize every nook and cranny, giving guests more than enough space to rest and relax. All rooms feature lots of storage so that you don’t have to keep stepping over your luggage on your way to the bathroom.
All rooms also have a Nespresso machine, coffee pods that can be replenished every morning, a minibar, and luxe bathroom toiletries from the Australian brand Appelles.
Of course, the cozy bed and heavenly pillows will make sure you enjoy some of the best sleep you can have.
On the other side of the property sits the serviced residences wing, set apart specifically for long stays with a minimum stay of 14 days.
The studio rooms of the serviced residences are definitely more spacious than the ones in the hotel, giving way to the kitchenette that’s complete with cooking ware, dinnerware, and a water filtration system that makes sure you have drinking water at arm’s length all the time.
We stayed in the one-bedroom suite residences, featuring a cozy living room that looks out to the stunning view of the Manila Bay, a 4-seater dining table, a complete kitchenette, a full-sized fridge, a microwave oven, a toaster, and a washer-dryer. It’s got all you need for a comfortable, convenient, and relaxing stay in the Mall of Asia complex.
My favorite part of the one-bedroom suite residence–aside from the complete amenities, super spacious room, and abundance of storage spaces–is the unobstructed view of the bay that can be enjoyed through the floor-to-ceiling glass walls. This room type also has a balcony in case you want to enjoy the ocean breeze.
The serviced residences offer guests a convenient and luxurious home away from home that’s only a few minutes away from many of the country’s iconic destinations for arts, culture, business, and tourism.
All-day dining at Lanson Place’s buffet restaurant: Cyan Modern Kitchen
What’s a great staycation experience without a gastronomic food experience? Thanks to Cyan Modern Kitchen, the in-house buffet restaurant of Lanson Place Mall of Asia, you won’t even have to leave the property to enjoy a feast during your stay.
One thing that will probably grab your attention instantly as you walk into the restaurant is the stunning view of the ocean framed inside the massive floor-to-ceiling glass walls that span across the restaurant. Wherever you choose to sit, you’ll be sure to enjoy a visual feast of the Manila Bay.
Cyan Modern Kitchen offers a breakfast buffet, lunch buffet, and a pre-dinner cocktail buffet. So, yes, you can feast as much as you want for the whole day!
The buffet is all about quality rather than quantity, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy a wide variety of cuisine and dishes at Cyan.
A few staples of the buffet—which became our instant favorites—were their noodle station which is an ode to the brand’s Hong Kong origins, and the intriguing Indian station which is not something you always see in most buffet restaurants.
The breakfast buffet included some classic Filipino breakfast dishes, waffles, pancakes, crispy and soft bacon, pastries, bread, fresh fruits, salad, fruit juices, and my personal favorite: unlimited Yakult!
The lunch buffet, of course, featured a gastronomic variety of hearty dishes. One of my go-to dishes was the beef soup from the noodle station; it was meaty, flavorful, and tasted just like the beef noodle dishes we loved in Hong Kong.
Another section that I kept gravitating towards is the seafood section which can include shrimp, mussels, or perfectly cooked fish such as the baked salmon and the mouthwatering steamed seabass.
Of course, the carving station deserves attention, too. One dish I particularly enjoyed was the crackling pork which probably had some of the crispiest pork skin I’ve ever tried!
This buffet restaurant also has a fresh-off-the-grill station where you can choose raw meat and fish to be grilled right before they’re served to your table.
To top off your feast, you can enjoy some fresh fruits, cake slices, pastries, and unlimited ice cream.
Cyan Modern Kitchen may not have a dinner buffet, but their pre-dinner cocktail buffet is pretty much the same thing.
From 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, guests can enjoy unlimited food, juices, sodas, cocktails, and mocktails. The food spread at the pre-dinner cocktail buffet also includes appetizers, main dishes, seafood, and the staple noodle station, carving station, and Indian station.
Personally, I didn’t think the amount of food differed that much between the lunch buffet and the pre-dinner cocktail buffet. But I definitely appreciated the unlimited drinks included during the evening feast!
I love that there’s a new buffet restaurant in the Metro that serves deliciously prepared dishes with wide variation. This just might be your newest go-to buffet restaurant in the Metro!
During the non-buffet hours, you can also visit Cyan Modern Kitchen to enjoy ala carte dishes that are just as delicious as the ones on the buffet table. One must-try dish is the cochinillo, which is super flavorful with tender meat and crispy skin.
Another ala carte dish you have to try is the Stir-Fried Tofu, which was such a delightful surprise. It’s savory with a bit of sweetness, the tofu and veggies are perfectly cooked, and it will make you devour a couple of cups of rice along with it.
With the exquisite dishes served at Cyan Modern Kitchen, it wouldn’t be a surprise if you visited the premium hotel just to enjoy a feast at the restaurant.
Amenities, views, and everything needed for a relaxing Metro Manila staycation
Lanson Place Mall of Asia also boasts multiple dining outlets in one property. On the ground floor of the hotel, there’s the BLK12 Cafe & Bar where you can unwind, and enjoy coffee, wine, and pastries.

Some soon-to-open dining options include Bytes, a grab-and-go food outlet serving healthy salads, sandwiches, and wraps; and Madeleine where guests can enjoy high tea.
Aside from the spacious rooms, accessible location, and wide variety of food options available, Lanson Place Mall of Asia makes sure you have a relaxing staycation with their available amenities.
On the roof deck sits a 25-meter infinity pool that overlooks the ocean. It’s the perfect spot to watch the iconic Manila Bay sunset while going for a swim.
And if you want to unwind or enjoy a refreshing dip after your swim, you can check out the EDGE Pool Bar which serves a wide array of cocktails, mocktails, and fresh fruit shakes.
You can stay active and stick to your workout routine with Lanson Place’s fitness gym. It’s more spacious than some hotel gyms, and there’s a separate yoga studio free for guests.
