Another amazing South Korean act has just finished rocking a concert in Manila. Who are they? They’re none other than ‘The Rose’—one of South Korea’s rising bands.

Ever since their debut in 2017, Filipino Black Roses (official fandom name) have always dreamed of having the four members Kim Woo Sung, Park Do Joon, Lee Ha Joon, and Lee Jae Hyung visit the country—and this month, their dream certainly came true.
Originally, The Rose wasn’t supposed to go to the Philippines for their ‘We Rose You’ world tour. But through the efforts of all the Filipino Black Roses, the four boys had the chance to grant their Filipino fans’ wish.
Through the aid of MyMusicTaste, The Rose’s Manila stop became a fan-initiated project that certainly placed a whole new meaning to the “For the fans, by the fans” saying.

Last December 15, 2019, SM Aura’s Samsung Hall was filled with roaring cheers and colors of red as fans got to rock out to The Rose’s original hits ‘Sorry’, ‘California’ and ‘She’s in the Rain’ among others. In addition to this, The Rose surprised fans with covers of famous Western pop songs such as ‘ILYSB by LANY’, ‘Hey Jude by The Beatles’ and ‘Breakeven by The Script’.

Despite minor technical difficulties that delayed the show for a few minutes, Filipino Black Roses didn’t let this stop them from having the best night of their lives.
Keeping it hot with the surprises, The Rose held a special raffle that would give lucky winners exclusive polaroid pictures of them. As for those with VVIP tickets, the night was made even more memorable with the special Hi-Touch event after.

In commemoration of this momentous event, The Rose said that “Manila is the BEST crowd” among all of their stops throughout their career’s two-year span. Iba talaga ang mga Pinoy!

So, once again, Filipino Kpop fans proved that there’s no other crowd like us! With the non-stop shows of various Kpop acts charging at the country this year, us Pinoys are never going to stop showing our undying love and support for the idols we love—and we just can’t wait to see which Kpop artist we’re going to wow next!
