Katy Perry’s Prismatic World Tour in Manila: A Visual Feast
A year after the Katy Perry’s Prismatic World Tour began, she finds herself in the country once again, now taking on the biggest stage at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.
Katy Perry’s Prismatic World Tour has been a highly successful global spectacle with 17 sold-out arenas in the UK, 66 sold-out arenas in North America and 25 sold-out arenas in Australia and New Zealand during 2014.
Perry is known for her mind-blowing performances and high energy on stage. And on May 7, Thursday night, Filipino fans witnessed nothing short of what was expected as she dazzled the crowd with a powerhouse production of her greatest hits.
Along with the new songs from her recently released album, Prism, she performed most of her widely known songs from one of her first singles “Hot and Cold” to fan favorites like “Teenage dream.”
The opening number showcased a futuristic Katy, where she wore a reflective dress complemented with an exciting display of laser lights. It was followed by a whole lot of equally outrageous costume changes exhibiting resemblance to a wide range of characters, such as that of a vibrant Cleopatra and the cast from the well-loved broadway musical Cats.
Between the show was the staple act of changing the life of one audience member who impressed Katy with a handmade fish suit. She welcomed him on stage and took #selfies with him. Totally enviable! She then performed a mellow acoustic set in her flower child inspried ensemble.
