Fans of KATSEYE noticed a change on Manon Bannerman’s Instagram earlier this week: the group’s name was no longer listed in her bio. In response, the singer shared a brief update with her supporters on Weverse.

“Thank you so much for all the love and support you’ve been sending my way. I’m really grateful for the patience and kindness everyone has shown during this time. HxG and I are having positive conversations, and I feel supported. I’m happy, and I’m healthy,” Manon wrote, adding that she plans to share more updates soon.
Manon has been on a temporary break since February 2026 to focus on her health. HYBE, the label behind KATSEYE, has expressed full support for her decision and emphasized that the group continues to stay connected with each other and with fans. There’s no word yet on when she will return to group activities.
This isn’t the first time Manon has stepped back from performing due to health reasons. Last year, she missed KATSEYE’s appearance at Summer Sonic in Tokyo.
KATSEYE debuted in June 2024 through HYBE’s audition program The Debut: Dream Academy. The group includes Sophia Laforteza from the Philippines, Lara Raj, Daniela Avanzini from the U.S., Megan Skiendiel from Hawaii, and Jeung Yoonchae from South Korea.
The group is preparing for major performances in the coming months, including their first Coachella appearances on April 10 and 17, 2026, and a headline slot at the Head in the Clouds Music & Arts Festival in Pasadena, California, in August 2026.

Maybe she’s just not ready yet for bigger responsibilities. Being in a girl group that aspires to be globally recognized takes a lot of effort and sacrifice. It could be more than just a health issue, there seems to be a pattern. Every time Kateye prepares for something big, something happens to her.
To be an idol, talent and looks are important, but they should be balanced with the right attitude since many people look up to them. Being in a girl group is also like working in a corporate environment aside from taking care of your fans, it is vital to work harmoniously with others within the group.
At the end of the day, everyone in Kateye has their own health to look after and everyone has their own dreams that they work hard for. I just hope Manon’s time off gives her a chance to rest and reflect on how fortunate she is. Just my two cents.
