Justin Bieber Reveals Half of His Face Is Paralyzed After Announcing Show Cancellations

Justin Bieber took to social media to reveal the reason why many of his upcoming live shows were canceled. In a video posted on both Instagram and Tiktok, Bieber says that he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome.

“It is from this virus that attacks the nerve in my ear and my facial nerves and has caused my face to have paralysis,” the 28-year-old artist says in the video.

He then goes on to show how the right side of his face has been paralyzed due to the syndrome, with only one eye able to blink and only half of his mouth able to smile.

Bieber also asks his fans to be understanding, especially those who have been frustrated about the shows’ cancellations, saying, “I’m just physically—obviously—not capable of doing them.”

While plans for his upcoming shows are still indefinite, the singer says that he will be taking the time to rest and relax until he’s “back to 100%.”

Celebrities, other artists, and friends of the singer also expressed their love and prayers in the comments of his post.

At the moment, three of his upcoming shows in Toronto and Washington D.C. have been postponed. Bieber is also set to perform live in Manila this coming October, but there’s no word yet about possible changes for his Philippine concert.
