Juliana Gomez recently won the fencing gold medal for the University of the Philippines.

She won against Cyrra Vergara from De La Salle University, 15-10, in the women’s fencing final for the UAAP’s 85th season.

On Instagram, she shared a photo on social media and captioned it with, “2 years in the making… I’m just getting started. It’s a privilege to fight for UP.”

Her father, Richard Gomez posted a video and wrote, “I am so proud of you @gomezjuliana! You are now UAAP champion!!! Hard work and understanding of the game has set in. I love you ‘day!”
