Last week, Julia Barretto went viral with a statement about her relationship with her father Dennis Padilla in an interview with Karen Davila. Despite Padilla’s reaction to his daughter’s remarks, Julia appears to be unbothered and moves on with her brand’s upcoming launch of new sunglasses! On her Instagram account this week, she posted a teaser for The Juju Club’s new eyewear collection dropping this weekend.
“We’ve got new eyewear. All coming this weekend,” the celebrity wrote tagging The Juju Club on Instagram.

In the interview, Julia opened up to Davila and said, “I just feel like he should be my number one protector and that’s not really what I’m getting right now from him.”
Over the weekend, the comedian appealed to Davila asking the journalist to interview him as well. In a now-deleted post, he mentioned that his children only know “half the truth.” However, Julia’s aunt Claudine called him out and briefly posted, “Kuya, tama na. Tumigil ka na please. Sumusobra ka na. Maawa ka sa mga bata, please stop. Mag-usap tayo.”
Meanwhile, Julia’s mom Marjorie comforted her for what she felt lacking in her life in an open letter on Instagram. “I love you with the kind of love that you can trust. Love that you can depend on, and the kind that will protect you and never betray you,” she told her daughter. “Maybe you need to hear this today… I am so proud of you, Juli. I am so blessed to be able to call you my child.”
In the interview, Julia also talked about how they deal with issues as a family and how supportive they are when faced with challenges. In line with the recent events, Marjorie revealed how they are once again handling the situation together. “Here we go again, back in our family bubble shutting off the noise outside. Only choosing to be grateful for the good things that are in front of us.”
“Remember Jul, God is all-knowing,” she reassured her daughter.
