Philippine national hero Jose Rizal has joined the roster of playable characters in “Civilization VII”!

Sid Meier’s Civilization announced the news through a first look video, introducing Rizal as a passionate defender of Filipinos’ rights. His starting bias on the map leans toward Tropical, while his attributes are cultural and diplomatic.
Called Pambansang Bayani (National Hero), his special ability allows players to earn extra Culture and Gold per Age everytime they gain rewards from a Narrative Event. Rizal’s agenda, Kapwa (fellow), makes him a collaborative yet discerning ally.
Civilization VII” is an upcoming 4X turn-based strategy video game developed by Firaxis Games and published by 2K. It is set to launch on February 11, 2025, and will be available PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, which also supports Mac and Linux.
