When in Manila, Moonshine Bar is giving you more reasons to come back to this cozy gastro pub along Jupiter street. Aside from their scrumptious bar chow and mains, Moonshine now offers lunch meals as well. Join Moonshine’s “Lunch Club” and expect hearty and filling comfort food to get you through the hectic workday. Included in Moonshine’s lunch selection are a variety of pork, beef and chicken favorites, with generous servings and all paired with rice. Not only do these dishes fill you up quite nicely, each also offers a distinct flavor that’s all Moonshine’s own.
Triple Garlic Salpicao (PHP 260.00)
Burger Steak and Eggs (PHP 220.00)
Our favorites of the bunch include Moonshine’s Burger Steak and Eggs, which may sound like a particular fast food favorite, except this one has a big and juicy 200-gram patty to show, along with rich gravy that has a strong, peppery flavor we can’t get enough of. Also worth mentioning is their Triple Garlic Salpicao, with its tender beef chunks sprinkled with lots of toasted garlic for that extra kick.
Wash it all down with Moonshine’s lemonade or frozen iced tea! Get a jar of their special iced tea on the house when you order any of their lunch specials for a limited time only.
Pan-Fried Chicken and Gravy (PHP 350.00)
Although not a part of their lunch menu, Moonshine’s Pan-Fried Chicken and Gravy hits the spot all the same, any time of the day. It’s interesting to note that they use a different gravy recipe for each dish; this particular version offers a subtly seasoned quality that best compliments the chicken meat. This place totally wins with their gravy mixes.

We also got to sample some of their appetizer staples. Their Crispy Jalapeno Shrimps are plump, flavorful and a perfect match with their signature Moonshine Cocktail. Their Bacon Stack gives a heightened dimension to everyone’s favorite piece of pork – it’s maple bacon dipped in batter and deep-fried to a savory crisp, and goes well with Moonshine’s signature “baconnaise.”

It takes fine skills and a good dose of creativity to produce a menu composed of great tasting dishes that remain consistent to an establishment’s ambiance, and Moonshine getting this imperative down pat is in my opinion enough reason to give this place a visit for lunch, dinner, or drinks, when in Manila.
