Jessy Mendiola proudly shared her postpartum fitness journey on Instagram, revealing she’s halfway through her C-Section recovery and core rehab program.
The Kapamilya actress said she realized that she wanted to stay fit and healthy to take care of her daughter, Isabella Rose, and not regain her physique before getting pregnant.
“She’s growing each day and I have to keep up. I want to be able to run and carry her without catching my breath. The abs and cuts are only perks that come with it,” she wrote in her post.
Mendiola pointed out that accepting her postpartum body significantly affected her mental health. She also admitted that she experienced postpartum depression.
“I went through postpartum depression and it wasn’t easy. The sudden change, the fact that your life has changed in so many ways but everything and everyone around you seems to be the same,” she expressed.
She also emphasized that despite her insecurities, acknowledging her strength to carry a baby in her womb for nine months, give birth, and take care of her baby while recovering is “amazing.”

“The goal is not to ‘bounce’ back, the real aim is to strengthen your new body. The same body that gave you the greatest blessing you’ll ever have,” she concluded.
In the comments section, her husband, Luis Manzano, wrote, “You got this!” Meanwhile, netizens admired the actress’ physique and dedication.
Mendiola welcomed Isabella Rose in December 2022.
