Janno Gibbs Marks 40th Day of Ronaldo Valdez’s Passing by Recalling Their Last Filming Together

Janno Gibbs recalled the last filming moments with his late father, Ronaldo Valdez, to mark the 40th day of his passing. On January 25, he posted a photo of them filming an “emotional scene” from his movie “Itutumba Ka Ng Tatay Ko.”

“Shooting this emotional scene w/ my Tatay was hard enough. Watching it now is even tougher. Your presence in the film is undeniable. Today is the 40th day of his passing,” he captioned.

“Itutumba Ka Ng Tatay Ko” is Gibbs’ directorial debut and the last movie he worked on with his father.

In an interview on “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho,” the actor-singer said releasing the movie a month after Valdez’s passing was the “perfect time” for people to forget the last “horrible image” of the latter and witness his legacy again as a veteran actor.

Meanwhile, in a recent interview with Karen Davila, Gibbs shared final events before his father’s passing, revealing he was scheduled for surgery due to a compressed spine. He also stressed Valdez wasn’t diagnosed with any illness.

“Wala pong iniwan na last will [There’s no last will]. I think it was spontaneous. I think he had a bad day, or he was having bad days, and he wanted to go on his own terms,” he said.
