James Van Der Beek, an actor best known for starring in the American drama series “Dawson’s Creek,” has passed away. He was 48.

On February 12 (Philippine time), his wife, Kimberly, announced the heartbreaking news in an Instagram post.

“Our beloved James David Van Der Beek passed peacefully this morning. He met his final days with courage, faith, and grace. There is much to share regarding his wishes, love for humanity, and the sacredness of time. Those days will come,” the statement read.
“For now, we ask for peaceful privacy as we grieve our loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend,” it added.
The actor was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer (bowel cancer) in late 2023, but it was only revealed in November 2024.
James Van Der Beek was a beloved actor best known for his acting performances in “Dawson’s Creek,” and “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23,” as well as his appearances in film, including “Varsity Blues,” “Texas Rangers,” and “The Rules of Attraction,” among others.
