The upcoming local remake marks a major career milestone for the lead vocalist of the popular Filipino indie pop band Cup of Joe. Serving as his official full-length big-screen debut, the project follows Bernardino’s high-profile decision to sign an exclusive contract with Viva Artists Agency and Viva Films.
During his contract signing, the singer-turned-actor candidly revealed that pursuing dramatic acting had been a cherished childhood dream, describing the craft of performing as his true “first love.”
Starring alongside him in the local reimagining of the classic Thai folklore-inspired movie are singer-actor Wilbert Ross and actress-host Bea Binene.

Pee Mak marks Ross and Binene’s second major project as an official on-screen love team and serves as their very first feature film together.
The former Hashtag member steps into the lead role of Mak—originally portrayed by Thai superstar Mario Maurer—while the former StarStruck Kids finalist plays his devoted wife, Nak, a role made famous by Thai-Belgian actress Davika Hoorne.

The fan-favorite pairing, affectionately dubbed “WilBea” by their followers, first captured audience hearts in the popular Viva One web series Golden Scenery of Tomorrow, a live-action adaptation of Gwy Saludes’ popular Wattpad novel.
Joining Bernardino as one of Mak’s four eccentric, hilariously loyal military buddies—Ter, Puak, Shin, and Aey—are comedic actors Vandolph Quizon, Jairus Aquino, and TJ Valderrama.
