Called Rewrite, this feature offers alternative versions with tone options like professional, concise, or friendly to match the audience. Proofread enhances grammar, word choice, and structure, suggesting edits along with explanations users can quickly accept or review. For summaries, users can condense text into a digestible paragraph, bulleted key points, a table, or a list.

More Conversational Siri

Apple users can now talk to Siri in a more natural and conversational manner! Users can type to Siri on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, switching smoothly between typing and voice commands to speed up everyday tasks. With improved language-understanding capabilities, Siri can keep up even if users pause or stumble and maintains context across multiple requests.

The enhanced Siri can also now answer thousands of questions about Apple features and settings, helping users with everything from screen recording to sharing Wi-Fi passwords with ease.

Updated Photos App

According to Apple, the Photos app is even more intelligent with many new capabilities. Searching photos will finally be easier by simply describing what you’re looking for. This works on video, too! The search also offers smart completion suggestions to help users quickly complete a search.

Another fresh feature is the Clean Up tool which allows users to remove unwanted or distracting elements from their photos without compromising the original image. A hassle-free way to get rid of photobombers!

Meanwhile, the Memories feature in iOS 18.1 gives users the ability to create personalized movies by typing a description. Apple Intelligence uses language and image understanding to select the best photos and videos, craft a storyline with chapters, and arrange them into a movie with a narrative arc. Sounds cool!
