It was truly a magical evening for 17-year-old Nathaniel (with Hodgkin’s lymphoma) and 16-year-old Gwen (with leukemia) as their wish to see Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour movie came true! For a few hours, they were able to forget their battles with their respective illnesses. They were instead filled with glee, singing their favorite Taylor Swift songs at the top of their lungs, and dancing to them like no one was watching!
The private screening of “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” on October 22 was organized by Miriam College High School Batch ’99. In collaboration with Cafe Mary Grace, Nathaniel and Gwen were surprised with a delicious dinner plus tickets to the show that fulfilled a truly unforgettable night!
Attending the event was part of Nathaniel and Gwen’s wish journeys as beneficiaries of Make-A-Wish Philippines, a charity organization that grants the wishes of children with critical illnesses. The foundation’s staff, volunteers, and donors make every wish extra special by creatively designing memorable experiences to spark joy and create hope for each medically eligible child.
Every year, hundreds of children face the harsh reality of a critical illness, triggering an endless cycle of despair, fear, and anxiety. Yet, amid these challenges, we all have the power to ignite a positive change in their lives. By continuing to craft friendship bracelets, we contribute to creating unforgettable moments that instill hope, strength, and joy in the hearts of these resilient children. Together, let’s be a source of light in their journey.
In the words of Taylor Swift, “Long live all the magic we made!”
