If you’re watching Alanis Morrissette’s Manila concert this August, you can expect to see a familiar face on stage.

Ice Seguerra will be the opening act in Morissette’s concert on August 1 and 2, 2023, at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Seguerra started as a child actor who ventured into music in 2001 with his single “Pagdating ng Panahon,” which became a major hit.

Morissette was scheduled to visit the Philippines in 2020, but the concert was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The singer was last in Manila in 1996.

The concert is meant to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Jagged Little Pill.

The album was released in 1995 and is considered one of the best-selling albums of all time. The album had the hits “You Oughta Know,” “Hand in My Pocket,” and “Ironic.” At the 1996 Grammy Awards, Morissette won five out of the nine nominations she received, including Album of the Year. The singer was the youngest musician to be given that award for 10 years.

In 2019, the world saw the premiere of the musical Jagged Little Pill, with music inspired by the album. The story focuses on a “modern and multi-generational family and their complex dynamics, touching on issues of gender identity and race.”

Just last year, Morissette released a new album called The Storm Before the Calm.
