Hyeri released a statement addressing the controversies with her ex-boyfriend Ryu Jun-yeol and Han So-hee. This came a few days after So-hee confirmed that she’s dating Jun-yeol.
On March 18, she took to Instagram to apologize for the speculations caused by her cryptic Instagram Story of a vacation spot with the caption, “This is funny,” which she posted following the dating rumors between Jun-yeol and So-hee. Eagle-eyed netizens also noticed that she unfollowed her ex-boyfriend on Instagram.
“First, I sincerely apologize for the speculations and controversies that arose over the past few days due to my personal emotions. I think I failed to consider the ripple effects that each of my minor actions could have. I sincerely apologize to anyone who was harmed because of me,” she wrote in Korean, translated to English by the K-entertainment website, Soompi.
The South Korean actress and singer admitted that her split with Jun-yeol was not easy. Then, she revealed that they still decided to talk about their relationship.
“Last November, the news was released that my eight-year relationship came to an end. It was not a decision made in a short period of time, and even after the breakup news came out, we had a conversation about talking more [about our situation]. However, we have not had any contact or met since that conversation,” she added.

“And four months later, I think my emotions after coming across a new article were perceived not as actress Lee Hyeri but as just Lee Hyeri. I apologize once again for causing harm with my impulsive emotions.”
Hyeri reflected on her actions, “Over the past few days, I didn’t explain the reason for my actions because I thought that our conversations were overly personal, and it would only increase fatigue [to the public].”
She concluded her post by assuring everyone that she will be more careful with her words and actions. The actress-singer also emphasized that she will delete her post.
“If this caused confusion for anyone, I am also sorry for that. Moving forward, I will be more careful with my words and actions. (I will delete this post soon. Thank you.)”
On March 15, Jun-yeol and So-hee were seen together in Hawaii, which sparked dating rumors. So-hee personally confirmed that they’re dating a day after her agency, 9ATO Entertainment, denied the rumors. Prior to this, she seemingly responded to Hyeri’s Instagram Story as she also posted a cryptic photo of a dog holding a knife on her Instagram Story.
In the caption, she wrote, “I don’t like people who have a significant other, I don’t lead them on while saying we’re just friends, I don’t take an interest in them, I don’t develop a relationship with them, and I don’t get in the way of other people’s relationships.”
So-hee reiterated in her blog post that she will apologize to Hyeri, admitting what she did was “pathetic” and “lame.” She also clarified that her current relationship with Jun-yeol didn’t overlap with the latter’s relationship with Hyeri.
