OMG! There’s a new fantasy series in the pipeline and it is starring two of our favorite oppas: Ji Chang-wook , best known for his roles in ‘Healer’, ‘Suspicious Partner’, and ‘Backstreet Rookie’, and Hwang In-yeop, who recently stole hearts in ’18 Again’ and ‘True Beauty’. They will be joined by Choi Sung-eun.
On Twitter, Netflix Korea asked, “Do you believe in magic?” The Netflix original series will revolve around a girl who has “grown up too early” and a mysterious magician who wants to remain a child. Based on the manhwa ‘Annasumarana’, a rumor spreads around school about an abandoned amusement park and a magician who lives there, who can make someone disappear for good. Yoon Ah-ee, a girl struggling to feed her sister and herself every day, will experience her life change as she meets this mysterious magician.

The series will be called ‘The Sound of Magic’ and directed by Kim Sung-youn (‘Itaewon Class’). He will be teaming up again with writer Kim Min Jeong, who worked with him on ‘Love in the Moonlight’.
Ji Chang-wook will play the mysterious magician, artfully balancing the childlike innocence and aloof charisma that defines his character. Choi Sung-eun is set to play the role of Yoon Ah-yi, working closely with Ji Chang-wook. Hwang In-yeop, a powerful rising star, will play Yoon Ah-yi’s classmate Na Il-deung who lacks the ability to interact well with others. Na Il-deung’s life slowly transforms as Yoon Ah-yi and Rieul introduce him to the enchanting world of magic.
The Sound of Magic will invite viewers from around the globe to a new vividly magical world. It will be released in over 190 countries only on Netflix. This fantasy series is based on the webtoon ‘Annarasumanara’ by Ha Ilkwon, which was published on Naver Webtoon in 2010. You can read it for free on the ‘Webtoon’ app while waiting for the show!
