Good news for SSS members—there’s now a more convenient way to access your benefits and manage your funds. The MySSS Card, recently launched by the Social Security System, now serves as both an official ID and a debit card.

This card combines your social security identity with digital banking features. Through a partnership with RCBC (via its digital arm DiskarTech), the card can be linked to a savings account and used for shopping, paying for public transportation, and making online purchases.
Once activated, the MySSS Card automatically becomes your main disbursement account for SSS benefits, loans, and pensions. That means you won’t have to enroll it in the Disbursement Account Enrollment Module manually anymore.
According to SSS, the new card also features added security measures, including an EMV chip, biometric verification, and PhilSys eVerify integration. These features make it more difficult to forge the card or use it fraudulently.
How to apply for a MySSS card
Applications for the MySSS Card started on October 1, 2025. For now, RCBC is the first bank partner, but additional options, such as AUB, China Bank, and UnionBank, are expected soon.
Here’s how to apply:
-
Log in to your My.SSS account (or create one if you don’t have it yet).
-
Under the “Services” menu, select “MySSS Card.”
-
Review and update your personal details.
-
Provide consent for SSS to verify your identity through the National ID eVerify system.
-
Complete the facial scan on the site.
-
Choose your partner bank (RCBC for now).
-
Agree to the data sharing terms between SSS and your chosen bank.
-
Wait for the confirmation message in your email and MySSS inbox.
-
Access your account through your bank’s app or visit a branch for verification.
-
Pay the applicable fees and choose whether to pick up your card or have it delivered.
For Metro Manila, card releases take around 15 working days after account opening. For areas outside Metro Manila, the process may take about 20 working days.
Why you might want one
The MySSS Card makes it easier to receive your benefits directly and securely. It also functions like a regular debit card, allowing you to use it for daily purchases while keeping your SSS transactions in one place.
If you already have a UMID card, don’t worry. It’s still valid. But if you’re looking for something that adds digital banking convenience to your SSS membership, the MySSS Card could be a good upgrade.
