In December 2024, three impeachment complaints were filed against Duterte due to alleged misuse of confidential funds, betrayal of public trust, and her threat to have President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, and Speaker of the House of Representatives Martin Romualdez assassinated.
The bill is now subject to review by the Senate, which will convene as an impeachment court. If found guilty, Duterte will be removed from her post and permanently barred from holding any public office.
The following House members will serve as prosecutors:
• Rep. Gerville Luistro
• Rep. Romeo Acop
• Rep. Ramon Rodrigo Gutierrez
• Rep. Joel Chua
• Rep. Raul Angelo Bongalon
• Rep. Loreto Acharon
• Rep. Marcelino Libanan
• Rep. Arnan Panaligan
• Rep. Isabelle Maria Zamora
• Rep. Lorenz Defensor
• Rep. Jonathan Keith Flores
Duterte is expected to remain in office until the Senate delivers its judgment.
