Hidilyn Diaz and her husband and coach, Julius Naranjo, celebrated their second wedding anniversary on July 26 with the inauguration of their weightlifting academy, HD Weightlifting Academy, in Jalajala, Rizal. It also marked the third anniversary of Hidilyn’s historic gold medal win at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games!
On Instagram, the Olympic gold medalist shared snaps of HD Weightlifting Academy’s inauguration and blessing attended by guests from Malaysia, Brunei, Manila, La Union, Zamboanga, and Bulacan.
“Though the weatherโs not predictable, I am thankful and blessed to be with people who are with us and show support, with Julius and the HDWLA,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, Julius penned a sweet wedding anniversary message to Hidilyn, emphasizing that they opened the weightlifting academy to commemorate their love for the sport and give back to the grassroots.
“On July 26th 2021, @hidilyndiaz and I celebrated a historical feat for the Philippines. One year later, we tied the knot and got married. And another year later, we opened the @hdweightliftingacademy,” he captioned.
He also said they have been developing the weightlifting academy, which started in a small garage and has since evolved into a full-fledged gym.
“We will do our best to give the kids the best and build them to be great shrewd and great people,” he added.

The couple tied the knot in July 2022 in Baguio City, exactly a year after Hidilyn made history as the first-ever Filipino to win an Olympic gold medal.
