Herlene Budol Changes Mind About Quitting Pageants

Herlene Budol tearfully admitted in a recent vlog that she will no longer be joining beauty pageants after failing to secure the coveted crown and representing the Philippines on the international stage three times. Now, however, it seems that the aspiring queen has changed her mind.

While being interviewed on the GMA Network television series “Dapat Alam Mo” with Kuya Kim Atienza and Susan Enriquez, Herlene was asked to truthfully answer questions being asked to her while using a lie detector. When the question came about whether or not she wanted to join another beauty pageant, Herlene seemed unsure.

Sali pa ba ako o hindi? Oo ata… maybe? Pwede ba maybe?” she said. The lie detector test then revealed that she was telling the truth.

She then went on to clarify that she isn’t really saying goodbye to pageants but will just be taking a break from them.

When asked how she’s preparing for the next beauty contest, Herlene joked, “Nagpapatalino po ako. At tsaka nag-pe-pray.”

Herlene published an emotionally charged vlog on her Youtube channel and her social media accounts revealing that she was retiring as she feels her past efforts have not brought her to where she wanted to be.

Nakakatatlong pageant na ho ako pero hindi pa rin po pwede. Ibig sabihin, huwag na ho nating ipilit. Ibig sabihin po non, ako po si Herlene Nicole Budol na nagsasabi ‘sorry Pilipinas, this is my last pageant. Bye-bye! Herlene Nicole Budol, I’m signing off,” she said in the video.

She then thanked and apologized to all her supporters who’ve been cheering her on throughout her journey.

Herlene won second runner-up at Binibining Pilipinas 2022 and was supposed to compete in the Miss Planet International in Uganda last year. She withdrew and the competition was eventually canceled due to multiple controversies. She then joined Miss Grand Philippines 2023 where she won Miss Tourism Philippines.
