In Davao City, a central 911 is already in operation. It looks like the city’s outgoing mayor who is the country’s incoming president, Rodrigo Duterte, will be applying this to the entire country soon.

According to a report from Manila Bulletin, Pure Force and Rescue Corp. has already met with Duterte.

Apparently, the said rescue company presented to Duterte a citizen safety and rescue app that will allow citizens to report emergencies so authorities can respond immediately.

In the report, it was explained that citizens can use the app or call 86505 to report emergencies. With a few arrangement, the number 86505 will be changed to 911.

The company is already a partner to the Philippine National Police, the Metro Manila Development Authority, the Department of Health, 17 local government units, and 14 cities.

Pure Force and Rescue Corp. emphasized that they are not a threat to private rescuers who offer the same service to save lives.

What do you think of the Philippines having a central 911?
