I am the ultimate chocolate cake zealot and I give Gillian Gail my candy-coated seal of approval. Their chocolate cake is satisfyingly good. It’s not too fluffy like a regular chocolate cake, but not too dense, either.

Another flossy favorite is the sans rival. This buttery dessert is not too sweet so it’s not too cloying. It has the right texture, too – not too soft, and not too crunchy.

After hitting up a dessert buffet, you’d think we’d be crashing and zoning out from a sugar-induced coma. But no, that was surprisingly not the case. See, Dennis, the head chef, has tweaked his dessert recipes by lessening the sugar content, so diners won’t feel too heavy from a saccharine overdose. Two thumbs way, way up.

Having in mind the customers who are not too fund of sugar-binging, they’ve also installed a siomai station, and included some nachos in their food selection.

You can opt to purchase these sweets to give away as gifts or to simply snack on.

There are no labels on their selections as they’re still working on the space issue of the buffet table. However, the waiters are available to assist you as you take your pick. On that note, the staff at Gillian Gail is very friendly and accommodating.

The price for the dessert buffet is Php 299. At Php 399, you can also avail of their rice meals (salmon or chicken served with pineapple orange, herby pineapple, or mango sauce).

Both prices come with unlimited drinks: coffee, tea, or house blended iced tea. These prices are not half-bad given that you can indulge on their sugary treats of top-notch quality. Make the most of it, though, as your stay at the cafe cannot extend past 3 hours.
