Is Gamora Going to Be The New ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Villain?

We’ve discussed before how Avengers: Endgame left more questions than answers with its ending. One of the unresolved issues in the movie is about Gamora and her whereabouts after Tony Stark snapped his fingers and dusted Thanos and his army. What happened to her? This was also Peter Quill’s question at the end of the film.

While yes, main-timeline Gamora is dead; 2014 alternate-timeline Gamora could still be alive. According to ComicBook.com, Zoe Saldana who plays Gamora was asked about the green assassin’s fate after Endgame during a panel at ACE Comic-Con. Much like most of the MCU cast, Saldana couldn’t give a straight answer, but she did share what she wanted to see.

“I would eventually, there’s a part of me that wants her to go back, find her way back to the Guardians but there’s also a part of me that wants to explore a bad Gamora. I’ve never seen that and she’s, you know, she’s considered the most lethal assassin, the most lethal woman in the galaxy so I would want to see what that wrath looks like also because it would just give me layers to sort of work on. But yeah, I want her to get back to the Guardians.”

She also shared that Gamora’s fate is in Marvel and James Gunn’s hands. However, it would be interesting to see a bad Gamora appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Even if she doesn’t end up being the main villain, the reluctant hero trope would suit her too!
