As much as possible, I try to support local brands and products. When it comes to self-care items, however, it can be quite hard to find products that suit your hair type or skin type. Aside from helping the environment, I have also mentioned that their products look and smell downright amazing. The variation of colors and scents available make their products more alive. Every time I shower, I literally marvel at the beauty of my Gaea soap which looks like it came straight out of Jurassic Park (I’m a 90s kid – sorry na! Haha.). All of that aside, 20% of Gaea’s income directly goes to the Environmental Legal Assistance Center, Inc. (ELAC), an NGO in Palawan. Many of the issues ELAC works on are related to access to and use of forestry and coastal resources, pollution, and land use and tenure. Gaea serves as a convenient way of supporting ELAC.
