#PhilippinesFirst!
This is JM Tubera’s battlecry, as he travels through the Philippines with best friends and camera in tow. “I wanna encourage Filipinos to travel the #PhilippinesFirst,” he writes to me and saying he wants to show everyone there is so much to see in the Philippines.
He tells the story of his advocacy:
“I first read the word PhilippinesFirst while i was reading a friend’s travel blog and it stuck with me. From then on, i got inspired by that advocacy and make sure that me and my friends will explore the beauty of the Philippines as much as possible. Why spend a lot of money to travel to another country when you have thousands of beautiful islands in your own?
These are the places we have visited together so far :
- Aklan – Boracay, Ariel’s Point
- Quezon – Cagbalete Island
- Cebu – Malapascua , Kawasan Canyoneering, Oslob Whale Shark Watching, Osmeña Peek, Tumalog Falls
- Leyte – Kalanggaman Island
- Bohol – Chocolate Hills, Loboc Man-Made Forest, Loboc River floating restaurant
Traveling with friends was so much fun because it gives you the opportunity to be spontaneous, have fun and appreciate the moment. When i made this travel video and uploaded it on facebook, i didn’t think that it would receive so much praise.
I hope the video will inspire every filipino out there to explore the Philippines more. I hope everyone realizes that there is so much more to see in the Philippines.”
