Franz Pumaren Is Adamson Falcons’ Newest Head Coach

Surprised? Don’t worry, everyone is.

Adamson University officially named Franz Pumaren as the newest head coach of the Adamson Falcons men’s basketball team at a press conference, according to local reports!

Franz Pumaren

The introduction came just merely weeks after the seasoned UAAP coach’s name floated around as one of the possible coaches to head the De La Salle Green Archers, following Juno Sauler’s resignation.

Pumaren was head coach of the Archers from 1998 to 2009, and led DLSU to win five UAAP titles. The celebrated coach will be taking the post previously held by coach Mike Fermin, and will be leading a roster bannered by Jaydee Tungcab, Jerome Garcia, and Papi Starr.

Asked about his new stint as Falcons head coach, Pumaren reportedly said:

“I look at Adamson team right now like a start-up company. We start from where we are and slowly but surely, we’ll work our way up.”

Well, this will be interesting.

Thoughts on coach Franz Pumaren joining the Falcons? Do you think he can lead Adamson to a championship next year?
