The event turned into a fun-filled day for Nolie and his family at Manila Ocean Park as JCI Manila awarded Nolie not only his simple wish of going on a field trip, but also a year’s worth of occupational therapy for his long-term improvement.

The project also worked to extend support to the Gabilan family by providing them with a pedicab for their daily needs. JCI Manila’s Grant-a- Wish Project is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of children with special needs and development disabilities. Since 2007, it has been all about fulfilling the wishes of chosen kids to strengthen their spirits and to answer their most pressing needs. The project’s last two beneficiaries were children with Down Syndrome who were given open heart surgery amounting to P250,000.00 each.

JCI Manila would like to thank this year’s major partners and sponsors for the Grant-A-Wish project: Felipe and Sons Barberdashery, the Josiah and Carolina Go Foundation, Habagat 1, ALRES-Phils, Printec Inc., Value Care Health Systems (Valucare), Independent Financial and Risk Consultancy (IFRC), Dai-1 Industrial, the Jollibee Foundation, Whisk and Zin.

The JCI Grant-a- Wish project aims to continue its mission of raising awareness for and helping children with special needs and developmental disabilities. We invite you to join us in granting the wish of our next beneficiary, Amber Deleña, a sweet and loving five-year-old girl with Down Syndrome. At birth, she was diagnosed with a hole in her heart, but because of the family’s financial constraints, her condition was left untreated. Amber requires open heart surgery within the year. Without it, she runs the risk of endocarditis and eventual heart failure.

As this year’s beneficiary of JCI Zugbuana’s Grant-A- Wish Project, help support Amber in the heart surgery that she needs. Any donation in cash or in-kind would be much appreciated. If you would like to donate or support in Amber’s cause, please contact Project Chair Kaye Yu via mobile at 0933 044 4304 or via email at fix.ambers.heart@gmail.com.
