JCI Manila’s Grant-a-Wish Project is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of children with special needs and development disabilities. Since 2012, we have been working to fulfill the wishes of our chosen kids to strengthen their spirits and give them a better tomorrow. Our last two beneficiaries were both children with Down Syndrome, and were given Open-Heart Surgery amounting to P250,000.00 each.
This year, we are excited to grant the wish of Nolie Gabilan, an inspiring child diagnosed with Autism and ADHD. In spite of this condition, he has managed to be top of his Special Education (SPED) Class. Grant-A-Wish is giving Nolie more than his simple wish of having a field trip. Apart from a fun-filled day with his family in Manila Ocean Park, we will also be providing 6 months Occupational Therapy for his long-term improvement. We are also extending our support to his family by providing them with a pedicab for their daily needs.
The awarding ceremony will be on Thursday, June 16, 2016 in Manila Ocean Park from 1:30 to 4:00 PM.
The group behind Grant-a-Wish is Junior Chamber International (JCI). JCI is a nonprofit organization of young active citizens, who are engaged and committed to creating impact in their communities. The Grant-a-Wish project aims to continue its mission of raising awareness and helping children with special needs & developmental disabilities.
