Finally, There Is Now a Finger Heart Emoji!

Unicode Consortium just released a list of 30+ brand new emojis including the “Hand with Index Finger and Thumb Crossed” or most popularly known as the finger heart. The non-profit corporation is devoted to developing, maintaining, and promoting the Unicode Standard. This standard ensures the consistency of encoding, representation, and handling of text expressed in most of the world’s writing systems.

That’s right! This update is not just for iOS users but will also be available on Android. 😉 The emoji features a hand with the index finger and thumb crossed while the rest of the fingers make a fist. The index finger and the thumb form a small heart shape, a gesture popularized by South Korean celebrities and pop stars. Hand with Index Finger and Thumb Crossed was approved as part of Unicode 14.0 in 2021.
