For many people living and working in Ortigas, the Shang Cineplex used to be the go-to movie theatre of choice when catching the latest films. The cinemas were nice and comfortable, the food choices were varied, and they even hosted foreign film festivals, many of them free. So when they closed down to renovate, we had to find our movie fix elsewhere while patiently waiting for the Cineplex to open again.
Well, finally, the Shang Cineplex has officially reopened and it’s now called the Red Carpet. We got to take a peek at the new cinema and it looks amazing!
Shang’s Red Carpet has five theatres with upgraded technology and interior design to make movie nights even more cinematic. The sound system is topnotch and the digital projection equipment offers better light reflection, which means viewers can see the best quality when they catch the latest films. The seats have been upgraded, too, with leatherette stadium type seating so you can cozy up with your friends and family.
For a more premium experience, the Premiere Cinema, with only 70 seats available, has a wider space available, reclining seats, and an adjoining bar and lounge.
Of course, movie night at the Shang wouldn’t be complete without their famous popcorn and hotdogs. And if you have a little downtime before your movie, you can hang out in their luxurious lobby.
If you’re the type of person who has to buy tickets online, Red Carpet does not disappoint. The website shows movies that are currently playing, upcoming releases, and special events. Viewers can also buy their tickets so they don’t have to line up when they get to the cinema.
One of Red Carpet’s upgraded offerings is their E-SEE Club membership, an exclusive program that gives loyal customers rewards and discounts. Perks include reserving seats via a special hotline or online, and using the E-SEE land for quicker transactions. Plus you can use your reward points to claim movie passes, parking coupons, and Cinebar treats for free.
Red Carpet is also open for exclusive events, private screenings, and conferences. They can also arrange catering from any of the mall’s excellent restaurants as part of their services.
