Calling all aspiring songwriters! The Filipino Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (FILSCAP) will be having its most awaited “FILSCAP Songwriters’ Night: Open Mic” this October 16 at the Upperhouse BGC.
FILSCAP is a collection management organization that collects and distributes royalties from public performance and communication to the public rights to music creators here and all over the world. Their advocacy is to promote and cultivate musikang Pilipino that’s why they have events such as this to encourage Filipinos to pursue their passion for songwriting and showcase their talents.
Musikang Pilipino is very alive and we should all be proud of it.
Did you know that Filipino songwriters from all over the country travel from faraway provinces – Davao, Dumaguete, Cebu, Pampanga, Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija, etc. – just to perform one original composition on the Songwriters’ Night:Open Mic? So if you love writing songs or if you love listening to local music, we want to invite you to join them for this special night of music.
