Fast food chains are no strangers to changing up their menus. One moment you’re enjoying your go-to order, and the next thing you know—it’s gone.
Over the years, we’ve seen some good items disappear, and honestly, we still miss them.

And speaking of limited-time heartbreaks, I recently tried Army Navy’s Lechon Kare-Kare Burrito. It had everything—crispy lechon, peanut sauce, and even bagoong inside a burrito wrap. The catch? I only got to try it on the last day of the promo.

Which proves the point: wouldn’t it be nice if fast food chains kept fan favorites forever, instead of taking them away when we’ve fallen in love?
So, let’s take a trip down memory lane and revisit some of the fast food items we loved and lost.
1. McDonald’s McSpicy Chicken

I’ll admit, I’m not great with spicy food… but the McSpicy was just too good to pass up. It had the right amount of heat, juicy chicken, and a mayo sauce that balanced everything out. My go-to combo was the McSpicy, the Twister Fries (please bring these back, too), and a Coke Float.
It did make a short comeback and even featured a new flavor: the Garlic Parmesan McSpicy. Honestly? The OG should’ve been permanent.
2. Jollibee’s Ultimate Burger Steak

This was comfort food in a box: a big, beefy burger patty, fries, and rice—all smothered in gravy. Carbs on carbs on carbs, but worth every bite. It was filling, affordable, and hit the spot every single time.
Jollibee, please… bring this back to the menu.
3. Chowking’s Orange Chicken

Sweet, tangy, and perfectly savory—Chowking’s Orange Chicken was a budget-friendly option that tasted like something you’d happily order again and again.
Sadly, it disappeared without much warning. We’re still not over it.
4. KFC’s Double Down

When this first launched, it was pure chaos (in the best way). Imagine a sandwich where the “buns” are fried chicken fillets, with bacon and cheese in between. No carbs, just protein overload.
People lined up for it, and it had that signature KFC flavor that hit hard. It’s popped in and out of the menu, but it deserves a permanent comeback.
5. Greenwich Pearl Coolers

Perfect for scorching Philippine summers, Greenwich once sold Pearl Coolers in chocolate and pandan flavors. They were refreshing, sweet, and a fun alternative to milk tea before it was sold everywhere. Definitely something we could use again.
Final Bite
Fast food menus will always change, but some items deserve a permanent spot. These classics were cravings, memories, and comfort food all in one.
Until they return, all we can do is remember… and hope.
