Ewan McGregor To Return As Obi-Wan Kenobi in New Star Wars Series

For years, Ewan McGregor has been dropping hints that he’d love to play Obi-Wan Kenobi again. After playing the Jedi master in the Star Wars prequel trilogy nearly twenty years ago, he’s moved on to become one of the biggest stars of our generation.

On August 15, Deadline confirmed that Ewan is coming back to the force to reprise his role in a Star Wars series that’s still in development for Disney+. Details about the series are limited. So far, it has been reported that there will be at least six episodes.

Last year, it was rumored that an Obi-Wan film was under development under LucasFilms but it seemed to have evolved into this series instead. We might find out more during Disney’s D23 Expo later in the month but we’re definitely excited to see Ewan McGregor pick up a lightsaber again!
