ENTERTAINMENT: PH Film Wins in Geneva International Film Fest

Another great achievement for Philippine film! “Alipato: The Very Brief Life of an Ember” directed by Khavn De La Cruz and starring Dido De La Paz and Marti San Juan won  the Special Jury Mention honor at the 22nd Geneva International Film Festival in Switzerland from Nov. 4 to 12.


Set in the near future, “Alipato: The Very Brief Life of an Ember” revolves around the gang culture of street kids in Manila, reflecting the gritty and violent underground of the city slums.


Khavn De La Cruz is also known for his 2010 film, “Mondomanila”, where he bagged the title as best director in the Cinemanila International Film Festival.
