ENTERTAINMENT: Coco Martin to Direct, Star on Upcoming ‘Ang Panday’ Film

Coco Martin will be directing his first movie ever and he’ll be starring in it too.

The movie is Ang Panday.

Comics King & director Carlo J. Caparas granted the King of Television and Cinema @mr.cocomartin the rights of the movie Panday, which Coco M. will topbill and direct, and pitch as an entry to the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival 2017.

The announcement was made by Coco’s manager Biboy Arboleda. It was confirmed when ABS-CBN PR executive Eric John Salut reposted a photo of Coco and director Carlo J. Caparas on Tuesday.

On the announcement, it said:

Comics King and director Carlo J. Caparas granted the King of Television and Cinema [Coco Martin] the rights of the movie Panday, which Coco M. will topbill and direct, and pitch as an entry to the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival 2017

If the movie pushes through, it will be the second time Coco plays an iconic role popularized by Fernando Poe Jr. At present, he plays the lead role on FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
