Enrique Gil is making his much-awaited comeback to the big screen, but his fans want to know: what’s the real score between him and Liza Soberano at the moment, and have they parted ways?
The 31-year-old actor finally got to put the rumors to rest in an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News, assuring everyone that all is well between him and his partner of eight years.

“We are good, we are good,” he said before explaining that they are both busy focusing on their careers.
“I am busy with all my projects. She is busy with all her projects naman. She is focusing on international work, which is super good for her. Kahit super busy kami, we still support each other no matter what. So, yeah, I’m super happy for her, super happy for me, too.”
It was in January of this year when rumors of their breakup first surfaced which Liza’s former talent manager, Ogie Diaz, later claimed was true. Liza, however, clarified that the reason why she wasn’t posting about Enrique on her Instagram feed anymore was to separate herself from the pressure of staying in a love team.
“People already assumed the worst about me because I haven’t been posting anything about [Enrique], we haven’t been seen in a project [together],” she told Bea Alonzo in the latter’s vlog. “I’m trying to stay away from the love team thing. It’s hard because everything that I try to do now as a solo artist isn’t being taken seriously, or isn’t being respected as it’s seen as something negative. They think I’m like some type of wild child now just because I’m not in a love team, or I’m not seen around the same man constantly. When that isn’t actually normal, to be honest.”
The two were also recently spotted at a friend’s engagement party.
Liza is currently pursuing a career in Hollywood under the management of Careless and will appear in the American comedy horror movie “Lisa Frankenstein.” Enrique, meanwhile, will lead the comedy film “I Am Not Big Bird” which will be shot in Thailand.
