LISTEN: Filipino Pop Punk band End Street Drops New Single

“Life is too short; I’d rather live through it by putting all of our music out there!” End Street frontman and songwriter Symoun Durias stated as the band dropped their single “Paano Tayo” upon announcing a second 10-song studio album entitled “Ano Ang Kasunod ng Paalam?”

Just mere months after putting on a spectacular sold-out show in Makati to launch their first studio album “Mga Kwentong Walang Kwenta,” the band has doubled down on the releases, with no signs of slowing down when it comes to songwriting. This time, the pop punk outfit is busy recording songs at the famous Tower of Doom Studios in Manila, being produced by none other than the band’s vocalist and sound engineer.

When asked about the band’s decision on why they immediately worked on their second album this early on, Symoun said that this all stemmed from the passing of his grandmother back in February: “I had a few songs, like five or six, tucked away in my demo folder limbo. Then my grandma passed away, and I found myself struggling to make sense of my grief, so I told my bandmates that I’ll be finishing the next album to honor her.”

Symoun added: “It’s an album all about goodbyes and what comes after it – hence the title that’s loosely translated as ‘what comes next after goodbyes.'”

End Street is fondly remembered by fans as a group that touches upon topics about death, grief, and acceptance; with hits like “Gunita” and “31.” As a band that doesn’t shy away from heavy topics, they are happy to say that this new song and this new album are reminiscent of that old End Street sound; heavy on the riffs and heavier on the lyrics.
