This BGC Resto Serves A5 Wagyu and Cocktails That Come With Fire and Lanterns

We went to Electric Garden in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, and from the very first bite, it was clear this wasn’t your average dinner out.

Offering a mix of Asian and European flavors, the restaurant combines refined cooking with creative flair, serving dishes and drinks that are as much about the experience as about taste.

A feast to remember

Dinner started with the Fantasy Roll, made with hamachi (or yellowtail, a Japanese amberjack fish), salmon, mango, and shrimp tempura. It was a standout favorite. The crunch of the tempura paired perfectly with the mango’s sweetness, creating a roll that was both vibrant and indulgent.

The Turori Aburi Maki, with salmon, chutoro (a medium-fatty cut of tuna), cream cheese, sesame, and teriyaki sauce, followed—and though the combination sounded unusual at first, the balance of creamy and savory flavors quickly made it another hit.

The drinks that followed weren’t just cocktails—they were performances.

Kiss the Flame arrived in a suspended glass sphere, revealed with flaming trails of cotton-like smoke before the tequila was poured. Spicy, smoky, and fiery, it packed as much drama as it did flavor. The Anne Pavlova offered something gentler—a blend of vodka, aloe vera Earl Grey, lychee, and champagne syrup, topped with soft foam.

The Wishing Lantern was whimsical, inviting guests to write wishes on paper slips that were burned to reveal the drink hidden inside the lantern. Its playful ritual paired perfectly with its floral gin base. For non-drinkers, the New World mocktail offered freshness and texture, featuring peppermint tea, honey, lemon, green apple, rose syrup, soda water, and chia seeds.

Mains carried the same thoughtful balance. The Tori Karaage was crisp, juicy, and garlicky. The Salmon Wellington reimagined the classic beef version by wrapping salmon and shiitake mushrooms in puff pastry with teriyaki sauce—rich, unique, and memorable.

Finally, the Miso Udon Carbonara added a clever east-meets-west twist, its creamy noodles topped with nori for crunch and miso for depth.

The highlight was the A5 Wagyu Rib Eye, cooked to a perfect medium rare. Tender, juicy, and melt-in-your-mouth soft, it didn’t even need the peppercorn sauce on the side.

Desserts rounded out the evening beautifully. The Nectar, with mango jackfruit compote and vanilla panna cotta, was light and not overly sweet. S’mores tapped into nostalgia with soft marshmallows, fruits, and white chocolate.

And the Chocolate Mille-Feuille, a layered puff pastry with chocolate mousse, was smooth, indulgent, and refined.

Why it stands out

Only after we had finished eating did we fully take in the ambiance. Upscale yet cozy, the restaurant buzzed with live music that elevated the mood without overpowering conversation.

And then there were the private rooms—one designed as a cigar and whiskey lounge with imported labels, the other featuring a projector that allows you to display personal photos across the walls. It’s the kind of detail that turns a simple dinner into a celebration, whether for anniversaries, proposals, or intimate gatherings.

So if you’re looking for more than just a meal in BGC, Electric Garden is where food, ambiance, and memory-making come together.
