Edgy Veggy Takes You Around the World With Their Delectable Creations

Edgy Veggy Takes You Around the World With Their Delectable Creations

When in Manila, you will be surprised: vegetables can be prepared and eaten in various ways – and creatively, at that. Gone are the wallflower days of vegetables — the time when they were but mere side dishes to your meal, often untouched and ignored. Thanks to Edgy Veggy, the veggie revolution has begun: the time for them to shine has come!

Camote and Cassava Chips with Vegan Aioli (P90)

Light and crispy, these chips will keep you wanting to munch for more. Baked to perfection, the chips will make you give into your craving, conveniently minus the excessive amounts of salt commercialized chips usually carry.

Fried Dumplings (P160)

Generously stuffed and not too greasy, this popular Asian appetizer will ready your taste buds for the exciting dishes ahead.

Garden Rolls (P130)

An all-time Vietnamese favorite dish – nothing beats the freshness of these rolls! The sauce commendably heightens the overall flavor of this meal. Plus, you don’t have to worry about making a mess while eating — the veggie fillings are so neatly packed, all you have to do is to just hold and bite away.

Korean Rice Meal (P230)

With this dish, you definitely won’t fall short on flavor. Striking and bold, this rice meal will surely leave an impression on your taste buds as the mushroom bulgogi unapologetically spreads flavor in your mouth, while the seemingly humble tofu on the side will astound you with its fine texture and savory taste.

Laksa (P180)

A lighter version of the traditional Singaporean dish, this hot bowl of perfectly firm noodles, vegetables, mushrooms, and coconut lemongrass broth, stays true to its original flavor.

Vegan Longganisa (P180)

If you’re the ulam + kanin type of person, this is perfect for you. It tastes a lot like the usual pork longganisa, you will forget that what you’re eating is a vegan dish! Paired with Edgy Veggy’s homemade vinegar and toasted coconut fried rice, the meal gives off an inviting aroma that will make you relish every bite.

Big Burger Burrito (P250)

Get ready for a perfect symphony of Mexican flavors in your mouth. Packed with Spanish tomato rice, mushroom burger patty, special barbeque beans, and lettuce, the burrito is delightfully filling on its own, hitting the right notes on your palate. Yet, it gets even better: coupled with the cashew cream AND salsa, this orchestra of flavors create a beautiful crescendo.

Gluten-free Mini Apple Pie with Cashew Cream (P99)

This meal is straightforward: what you see is what you get. No fancy schmancey, no frills. Plain and simple, it  prides itself in being the nutritious dessert that will cap off your while dining experience.

Gluten-free Banana Peanut Butter Cream Pie (P130)

Not too sweet, the banana-peanut butter tandem rightfully gives a gentle ending to your meal.

When my friends and I stepped into this vegetarian restaurant, we simply wanted to partake in healthy food, but boy, we did not have a clue that we were absolutely in for a treat! What amazed us was that they had vegan dishes from different cuisines and cultures — Korean, Chinese, Singaporean, Mediterranean, American, Italian, etc. which they were able to successfully deliver. Each had character that was distinct from another.

Exploring the world, one meal at a time 🙂

It almost felt like we travelled the world that night, thanks to the variety of flavors Edgy Veggy served to us. As we journeyed from one dish to the next, we learned to appreciate vegan food all the more. Edgy Veggy dispels the popular connotation that vegetables, more or less, taste the same and are therefore boring. The sumptuous meals removed any prejudice some of us had about old, boring vegetables. We realized that when a dash of creativity is incorporated with preparing healthy meals, eating healthily can be quite an adventure.
