Poblacion’s gotten a hot new act…
and her name isย Ms. Gee.
Who is she? We want to know her.
A brainchild from the minds of concepts such asย Roku, Sushi Nori, Nara Thai and not surprisingly,ย Lan Kwai. This spiritual older sibling to the Katipunan-based hotspot shares the same red light intimacy that made her younger brother so famous, adapting the speakeasy-styleย of serving mouthwatering food for dinner so it can tide you over into the real fun later into the night but adding her own little flair to cater to her Poblacion patrons.
We here at the WIM Team got invited over for their Grand Opening and Chinese New Year celebration and weย must say,ย Ms. Geeย is making big strides already.
Neon, red candles, good food, and great booze. Ms. Gee is all about that.
Despite the play on words that birthed her name,ย Ms. Gee‘s executive chef promises that you will find no trace of MSG in their menu offerings. Standouts from the food side of things include theirย Dong Bo Pork Belly,ย an amazingly soft and tender piece of pork belly in a rich, flavorful, tangy sauce with a side of mantou that you can make an incredibly delicious sandwich with.
The true star of the food menu, however, wasย Ms. Gee‘sย Duck Tacos. Peking duck paired with a very addicting sauce to pair with more traditional taco ingredients skyrockets this appetizer to the top. It’s the perfect starter in their menu, something that gets you in the mood to devour more of their offerings but has potential to, and honestly should, be an attraction all on its own.

Aside from good food,ย Ms. Geeย also has a stellar collection of booze.
We couldn’t get enough of their Red and White Sangrias!
Ms. Geeย provided all the tools for a great night out with their drinks being perfect complements to either their food or the music being provided to us that night by DJ Euric and more of Manila’s music scene such as Marga on the Mic, DJ Jom, Private Miller, and Curtismith. Theirย Whiteย andย Redย Sangria both catered to different tastes, with the white version offering a smooth, mild taste for the chill people in the group, while the red version gave a sweet and candy-like zing to the energetic partygoers.
Another standout from their drink menu is theirย G&Tea, which is essentially what milk tea is for party people.
It’s like milk tea for your party friends!
Infused with your choice of oolong, green, or jasmine tea and garnished with dried rose petals, theย G&Teaย looks classy, elegant and graceful. The drink provides a smooth hit of alcohol that is offset and actually works well with the fragrance from the roses and the tea. We were served the jasmine-infusedย G&Teaย and were already set on coming back to try the oolong and green tea version of it.
Ultimately,ย Ms. Gee arrived on the Poblacion bar scene with a bang with a delicious menu, plentiful amounts of alcohol, and a great look. They look to be players in the Poblacion area for a long time to come and this writer is already looking forward to the next time he gets to visitย Ms. Gee.
