On the night of November 21, DNS P2P Bus operations announced in a statement that its operations would be temporarily suspended, effective Friday, November 22.

“It is with a heavy heart that we must announce the temporary suspension of our DNS P2P Bus Operations starting November 22, 2024,” it wrote.

“Our P2P route has always been more than just a business to us — it was a service of heart,” it continued, adding that despite being a missionary route sustained only by subsidies from their other business units, they kept it running because of the “importance” it brought to small market communities in Makati and Quezon City.

DN2 P2P Bus launched its route back in December 2017, making commuting easier for those who live, work, study, or travel between Makati and Quezon City.

The transport company also shared that the daily journeys of their commuters were something they cherished, as they grew to recognize familiar faces and hear stories about their day.

“But as much as we want to continue, it has become too hard for us to keep this route going, and with a heavy heart, we have to take a break for now.”

They were also grateful for their patron’s loyalty and trust over the years. In addition, they also apologized for the inconvenience they have caused and hoped for everyone’s understanding.

To conclude the statement, DNS P2P Bus wrote: “This is not goodbye. We hope to see you again soon.”

The statement, which garnered thousands of likes upon posting, was met with expressions of appreciation from social media users, as the daily routes made traveling much more convenient. However, other social media users criticized the last-minute announcement, noting that the announcement should have been posted a few days earlier to allow commuters to plan their routes ahead of time.
