During 2020’s translacion, a photo went viral that the Cross of the Black Nazarene broke. Though this year’s translacion moved faster than last year, it still had thousands of devotees who joined the procession.
At some point, it was seen in photos that the Cross of the Black Nazarene seemed to be broken. Many netizens thought that it might be because of the big crowd that damaged the images. According to netizens, the cross broke when it was on its way Hidalgo.
Though the photo had circulated, the Manila City Government clarified that the cross didn’t break and the arms were foldable. They had to fold a part of the cross so it wouldn’t reach the wires overhead.
