Day 8.org Training: Strategy and Innovation 2-in-1 BootCamp

When in Manila, become a successful Business Man or Woman.

Better yet become a Business Blogger.

I only spent two days in a seminar, but it seems like my whole life has changed. I feel success in my bones, inspiration in my head and strength all throughout my body. Yes, the training was that good. And if you think that this is one of those miracle steps, it isn’t. It was a clear and realistic approach on how we, as individuals, can stay who we are and be successful through our strengths.

Last December 2-3, 2013, Day 8 Training had its Strategy and Innovation Boot Camp. I just had to go because the speaker was no other than the owner Mr. Josiah Go, Marketing Guru, Best Selling Author, Famous Entrepreneur, Blog Manager, and the list goes on and on about his achievements. Surprisingly, he was this down to earth jolly guy. Which made the encounter comfortable and relaxed.

Day 8 Business Academy is a social business according to him – the kind of Business that focuses on its advocacy instead of on profit. And that is to help Entrepreneurs and struggling businesses through their seminars. It is a subsidiary of Mansmith and Fielders, Inc. who does consultation and training.

According to their website: Day 8 Business Academy, Inc. offers short courses not offered by Mansmith and Fielders, Inc. Its low price for half-day programs reflects its commitment to the knowledge and development needs of SME business owners, with three pillars of commitment as follows:

  1. Increase revenues;
  2. Improve personal effectiveness; and
  3. Cut cost without cutting corners

And so Day 1 begins.

Training started on time and we were even served with snacks and lunch to come afterwards. It started with a video of an inteview with Mang Inasal founder: Edgar “Injap” Sia II. We were introduced about the connection of innovation and success. We don’t need to be a genius and sometimes do not need to be the inventor (well good if we are) but otherwise just knowing whats needed is enough. Solving a need and a problem makes an Entreprenuer valuable according to Mr. Josiah Go. Or “Jo” which he prefers everyone to call him. We were interested and curious.

I came with no current business on hand and just Ideas. I had one thing current, my blog: debbieannecastro.blogspot.com and my other visual blog which is balletbride.tumblr.com. I was asked, I paused and was puzzled: What makes my blog valuable? I did get to answer this along the way with the speaker’s help. The other participants on the other hand owned several establishments and businesses as well from the owner of Glupa Skin Whitening (https://glupaphils.com/) to Fried of Pasig (https://www.facebook.com/friedofpasig), Convenient Stores, Water Refilling Stations, Retailers, Services and the like.

We first tested how our business plans sounds by getting each other’s opinion. We practiced giving our Business Pitch, shared information to the class and did further analysis in groups.

Business Strategy Discussion by Day 8

Day 1 of this Two Day Training for me was a self-realization. We were guided by the speaker, Jo and we were pointed out to things on what the status quo is and what we are doing about it. We also realised certain things like what we don’t like in the current setups of businesses and yet we don’t know what to do about it or just aren’t doing any thing about it. There is only so much I can say in this article, but I give full recommendation to Entrepreneurs and bloggers to try out the training yourself, so that you can also get the same level of coaching we got.

Business Consultation and Brainstrorming

Pinoy Business Men

The second day was even more important. We were able to consider each business as a case and learned about what we can do on the current business problems of each participant. We also got samples of Glupa products and Villa Socorros Sabanana Chips from the two CEOs of the said companies who were present in the seminar.  The seminar not only provided solutions but also a network of new friends and Business partners as we exchanged contact information and business plans.

So, When in Manila, Become an Entrepreneur. Attend Day8.org Seminars. I describe it as a Two-Day MBA course.
