David Licauco spoke up in his defense after a netizen accused him of neglecting to greet his love team partner Barbie Forteza’s real-life boyfriend, Jak Roberto, on his 30th birthday last December 2, 2023.
The comment was made on a recent Instagram post of himself enjoying the beach at night. “Kala koba kaibigan mo si Jak bat hindi mo binati ng happy birthday?? [I thought Jak is your friend; why didn’t you greet him a happy birthday?]” the netizen wrote.
David then clarified that he did greet his fellow actor albeit in private.
“Chinat ko na siya besh [I already chatted with him],” he answered.
Barbie, meanwhile, penned a sweet and heartfelt message to her boyfriend while sharing photos of themselves commemorating the occasion.
“Maligayang Kaarawan, Aking Tahanan. Sobrang saya ko dahil nakikita ko kung gaano ka nageenjoy at nagpupursige sa business mo. Ang dami mong kaibigan dahil napakabuti ng puso mo [Happy birthday, my home. I am so happpy because I could see how much you enjoy and work hard for your business. You have so many friends because you have such a good heart],” she wrote.
“Proud na proud ako sayo. Basta andito lang ako sa likod mo, nakasuporta sayo. Mahal na mahal kita. [I am so proud of you. Just know that I’ve got your back in full support. I love you very much.]”
David and Barbie’s love team BarDa is currently among the most popular ones in showbiz ever since they did the series “Maria Clara at Ibarra” together. They also starred in Ben&Ben’s music video for their cover of “The Way You Look at Me” and a television remake of the 1991 film “Maging Sino Ka Man.” They are set to star in a new show “Pulang Araw” and the movie “That Kind of Love.”
Jak’s most recent project was the television series “The Missing Husband” and he also launched his new business, JC Essentials, in October.
