As the nation continues to mourn the over-a-decade-long romance between Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla which had officially ended, plenty of netizens decided to look back on some of the movies and television shows that the love team has made through the years, particularly the 2018 film “The Hows of Us” directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana.
Some netizens, however, admitted that they found it difficult to rewatch the movie not because of their grief over the KathNiel breakup but because they apparently can’t stomach Darren Espanto’s acting.
“Hiwalay na KathNiel pero p*******a mo ka Darren Espanto di pa rin kita matiis panoorin sa The Hows of Us hayop ka [KathNiel have broken up but Darren Espanto I still can’t stand watching you in The Hows of Us],” one netizen said.
“Panira pa rin talaga ‘tong si Darren Espanto dito sa The Hows of Us p*******a [Darren Espanto really ruined The Hows of Us],” another said.
These tweets didn’t escape Darren’s attention and he proceeded to screencap them and share his response which began with an apology and an admission that his acting in the film wasn’t as good as it could have been.
“Sorry na. Aminado naman ako, wala nga akong workshops bago isalang sa ‘The Hows Of Us’ eh,” he wrote. “Pero pramis, bumawi ako sa ‘Lyric & Beat’ at ‘Can’t Buy Me Love’. Si Direk Cathy na nagsabi. Wag na kayo magalit.”

Plenty of fans then jumped to his defense in the replies and praised the performer-actor for his “humility.”
