Chatime – Chatime’s “Kronuts” get our vote for being one of the very first places to offer cronuts in Manila. With its sugary-sweet flavor, wide assortment of flavors and soft and chewy texture that leans more towards that of a donut, this is cronut offers a more familiar taste that classic donut lovers will surely love. Chatime’s cronuts make the perfect snack to complement their newest selection of warm brewed milk teas, a great way to mellow down the sugar rush brought by these sweet treats!

Dolcelatte (by Janelle Yau) – With all the pastry shops in the metro coming up with their own version of New York’s current obsession: the cronuts, Dolcelatte by Bread Bar ain’t backing down from the competition coming up with their very own croughnuts.  With the most variety of cronut to date, every bite of Dolcelatte’s cronuts is a taste of heaven. Dolcelatte’s Varlrhona Crunch, Almond Caramel, Chocolate Caramel and Blueberry Creamcheese are definitely a must try when in Manila!

Le Coeur de France (by Josephine Arce) – Le Coeur’s cronuts sets the standard on my tastebuds since that’s where my first bite came from. Having them known to make the best croissants locally, I have a hunch that they make good cronuts as well since it is croissant base. Priced at Php89 per piece, it is definitely way cheaper than other well-known pastry shops. At first glance, I was overwhelmed with its size and toppings. I got the chance to take a bite first with their Double Belgian Chocolate cronut and damn, it was so good!! In an instant, I was sent to heaven! It has this crunchy feel of the chocolate chips that just explodes with goodness and is spreaded with chocolate ganache on top. I could eat this forever! Another variant is their Parmesan Cheese Cronut – a combination of right sweetness and saltiness, sprinkled with parmesan cheese with bavarian filling. And their last variant, Mixed Berries Cronuts – glazed with mixed berries on top with a lovely whipped cream on the inside. A side-note, considering their cronuts are less greasy, theirs is overloaded with toppings so please forget counting your calories after this. 🙂

Price: Php 89.00

Availability: Le Coeur de France’s cronuts are readily available during store hours at all their branches. Yay!
